This multi-disciplinary conference focuses on the long-term (1850-2010) history of migration movements to and from Europe. Various perspectives are used: micro- and macro-economic effects, cultural and social issues (involving integration), resistance to assimilation, etc. The concluding round-table will evaluate if lessons can be learned from our experience in the  past to help us face and integrate current and future immigrant flows.
