A international summer training course devoted to value-based education of young people

The "Training Course on Learning to Live Together – An Intercultural and Interfaith Programme for Ethics Education" is organized by youth associations in Azerbaijan in order to advocate for chidren's rights to education, as stated in the UN Convention of the Rights of the Child. The course targets educators who are willing to improve their skills on ethical education to children living in plural societies. Course teachers use informal education, participation and other activities to involve participants, together with a manual developed by Arigatou International in close cooperation with UNESCO and UNICEF.

The training course address both theory and practice of how to strenghten identity and critical thinking of young people and push them towards constructively build positive change within society. The aim of the program is to promote mutual understanding and respect for people of different cultures and beliefs.

The training course will last 5 days, during which selected participants will  learn from each other, challenge their prejudices, engage in meaningful dialogues, unlearn preconceived violent ideas, develop their critical thinking and build on their positive experiences and initiatives.

The requirements

Candidates can also be over 30 years of age, as the course targets two groups: young people of up to 30 years of age and group leaders of 30 years old and older. The organizers invite youth workers, social workers or youth leaders actively involved in international and/or local youth, social, community work towards peacebuilding, intercultural dialogue and civil society development to apply in order to participate to the training course. Participants should be motivated and committed to take part to all activities envisaged by the programme.

Costs

The participation fee is 900 US$, which includes participation in the 7 days International Training; accommodation (single or double room); trainers/experts fees and educational materials; three meals (National and European meals) and two coffee breaks per day; participants welcome and departure service.
