Workshop "The EU's Eastern Neighborhood in Transition: Risks and Opportunities in Europe's Two Largest Countries"

Description of the Workshop

The University of Kent in Brussels and the National University of "Kyiv-Mohyla Academy" (Ukraine) announce a call for presentation and discussant proposals on issues related to the transition of Russia and Ukraine and their relations with the European Union.
Speakers who have done recent research and may have published relevant articles on the issue are especially invited to participate. They would be asked to either:
- Make a short presentation, 10-15 minutes, of their recent research results on a specific aspect of one of the three panel topics,
- Serve as a discussant of three such presentations and comment on them for ca. 10 minutes, on one of the three panels. Discussants should be established experts on the panel's topic.

  • Promises and Vagaries of Future Anti-Regime Protests in Russia and Ukraine: Political Evolution or Social Revolution?
  • Ukraine between Russia and the EU: Perennial Apple of Discord or Key to Creating a Wider Europe?
  • Putin's Project of a Eurasian Union: Neo-Soviet Pipe Dream or Sustainable Integration Model?
