Business Russian Language and Internship Program

The program

The BRLI program serves students ranging from intermediate to near-native speakers of Russian. All academic activities are conducted on an individual or small group basis in Russian by members of university faculty at Moscow International University or the Russian State Pedagogical University (Herzen University) in St. Petersburg. Classes generally meet for an average of 16-20 hours per week; on average, participants spend 10-15 hours per week at their internships.

Courses of instruction will focus on intensive Business Russian language. Course offerings vary, but may include: 

 

The American Councils arranges unpaid, non-credit internships based upon each participant's language ability and field of interest. Internships are available in regional offices of U.S. businesses, U.S.-Russian joint venture companies, non-governmental organizations, press offices, Russian-owned businesses, international trade organizations, and a wide-range of charities and non-profits. 

How to apply

Graduate students and advanced undergraduates who have completed at least two years of college-level Russian with an Intermediate proficiency level may apply to the Business Russian Language and Internship Program. Admission is merit-based and considers language ability, academic record, and references.
