Since its founding in 1962, Eastern European Economics has consistently published the finest research on the economies of Central and Eastern Europe. The journal aims to reflect developments in Central and Eastern European economic thought and policy that are of the most relevance to academic and professional specialists in economics, finance and international relations who have an interest in these countries and in the future of the new Europe. Topics covered by Eastern European Economics include the functioning of East European countries under central planning; reform trends in communist-era economic theory and practice; and, more recently, the ongoing processes of transition to market economics in different countries and their integration into the broader European and global economies.
