Description of the Conference/Event
The journal fosters the work ofthe first generations of Romanian political scientists permeated by a sense ofcritical engagement with European and American intellectual and politicaltraditions that inspired and explained the modern notions of democracy,pluralism, political liberty, individual freedom, and civil rights.
Eligible topics for the conference
The journal invites contributions for a special issue of StudiaPolitica that explores the relationship between art and politics inpostcommunist contexts. Iinterdisciplinary approaches of these topics inEnglish, French or Romanian are welcome. Questionscontributors might address include, but are not limited to:
- How were artistic institutions transformed by the changes of regime?
- How did the double transition (political and economic) affect the artisticdomain?
- How are artistic discourses transformed in the aftermath of communism?
- How is the communist past deconstructed by artists?
- Which is, comparatively, the approach of the post-communist states towards theartistic world?
Approaches of the variousartistic contexts during the communist period are also welcome.
